Promises . . .

I wonder what you promise to them when you first meet to make yourself so irresistible to so many?

Do you promise him a lifetime of that euphoria that rushes over his body in those first few moments, but forget to tell him that warm embrace fades quickly leaving him trembling?

Do you whisper in her ear that you will be her knight in shining armor, and rescue her from all of her worries, but it slips your mind to tell her that SHE will chase the dragon becoming her own worst enemy?

Do you dangle in front of their questioning eyes the key to a promising future, but fail to inform them that the door to their past slams shut leaving their loved ones behind?

Do you paint them a portrait of themselves depicting who they have always wanted to be, but cover the mirrors so they never catch a glimpse of the stranger they have become?

Do you offer the moon and the stars on a silver platter, but never explain in exchange they would burn their world on a silver spoon?

Do you pledge your love & loyalty to be with them until the end of time, but never say the end could be as soon as tomorrow?

I see YOU for who you are...
I remember THEM for who they once were...
YOU take them from all they had...
I hope for THEM for all they can be....

So I Wait . . .

The winds in my sails now seem to be gone...
So here I float in uncharted waters, and WAIT.

The sunrise that use to greet me won't break the horizon...
So I sit here in the shadows longing for its warmth, and WAIT.

The drops of rain that would wash everything anew can't seem to reach the ground...
So I stand here with my arms wide open, reaching for its baptism, and WAIT.

The dreams I used to chase have been interrupted by nightmares...
So with eyes wide open I do my best to keep the monsters at bay, and WAIT.

The path that I used to follow now leads me in circles...
So with blisters on my heels I shall stand firm, and WAIT.

The inferno in my belly has all but been extinguished...
So I hold firm to my last match hoping for the winds to die down, and WAIT.

The beats of my heart now show signs of a murmur...
So I accept the fact there is no cure, but refuse to accept defeat, and WAIT.

I wait because of hope...I wait because of love....I wait because I know what is waiting for me…

I wait because it is what he would want.

So I wait...

My "SUN" . . .

I recall looking down at your face wondering....What will become of this tiny creation?
Will my words reach you, and help you to become everything you were meant to be?

I recall looking into your eyes wondering....How will you view the world, and see your future?
Will you be able to see all of the beauty & hope through the uncertainties and madness?

I recall looking at your perfect mouth wondering....Do you have a voice that carries for all to hear?
Will the songs that trip off your tongue command and demand the attention that they deserve?

I recall looking at your tiny hands and fingers wondering...Will you be able to reach for all your heart desires?
Will you be able to grab hold of all of your hopes and dreams and make them your reality?

I recall looking down at your impossibly small feet wondering...Will they lead you where you need to go?
Will they carry you to greatness & help you to stand your ground under any circumstance?

I now look up at your face, and into your eyes filled with wisdom beyond your years confident that you will take this world in the palm of your hands and possess it. Your wingspan will take you further then I had ever hoped, and your voice will resinate for all that will listen. Your journey into manhood has just begun, but your greatness to mankind can already be felt.

The earth revolves around you "Sun", and you "Sun" revolve around the earth.

Liberation Day . . .

As far back as I can recall I have been using ink as my blood to stain the pages of notebooks, napkins or whatever I could get my hands on to help unleash the traffic jam in my head.

I have pages filled with run-on sentences, misspelled words and illegible entries that could only be described as hieroglyphics.  However, I can decipher every click and beep that I emoted onto these pages.

I would purge my emotion on paper for the whole world to see (granted it was a one woman world) and then I would vault it, and convince myself that once I turned to the next page the previous page no longer existed. Those particular feelings had their day in court, and were judged by a jury of their peers (Me), and a verdict would be handed down.

So, recently I was cordially invited to bare my soul for all eyes to see.  That very well may just be you, and you alone, but that's one more set of eyes than I'm used to.

I went back and forth on whether I was ready to let you in and allow the pages that used to self destruct the moment they were turned an eternal bookmark to be viewed at a whim.  To be honest, my heart has exceeded the speed limit as I sit here typing with the mere thought of it all.

The decision has been made, though, and I have decided that I am going to throw caution, pride and probably the kitchen sink to the wind and see if the spotlight (however dim it may be) will be liberating or debilitating.

My rose colored glasses are all scratched up and missing a lens.  So let me just say…This is me in the raw and I would apologize in advance for anything that I write from here on out that offends but I won't lie to you on our first date.

Who knows, maybe you will see a little of yourself in me or perhaps you'll scratch your head and wonder how this girl got passed the guards.

Thank you for reading my first entry.  I do believe I will go put on a sweater, I'm feeling a tad nude!

Ta!
